6 Fit Things to Do in Philly This Weekend: Yoga Movie Night, Lemon Run, Pickling Workshop and More

1. Philadelphia Runner’s 10 Year Anniversary Run
When: Friday, November 7th at 6 p.m.
Where: 16th and Sansom streets, Center City.

A free, casual run with Philly’s best running store (if we do say so ourselves) to celebrate a decade of business and community building. Beers back at the shop will follow.

2. Pickling Workshop
When: Saturday, November 8th from noon to 2 p.m.
Where: Gravy Studio and Gallery, 155 Cecil B Moore Avenue, Philly.

Local educator and urban gardener Allie Wilson will teach you how to pickle, well, almost anything at this two-hour workshop. Veggies, assorted pickling spices and a mason jar will be provided to all participants. The $15 ticket gets you in to the gallery event Cultivate: A Farm and Food Event, which includes a photography exhibition, food, games, cocktails and live music. 3. West Fairmount Park Trail Run
When: Saturday, November 8th from 9 to 11 a.m.
Where: West Fairmount Park, Philly.

Explore secret trails in Philly’s West Fairmount Park with the Fairmount Park Conservancy. This month’s guided run features three- and six-mile options. It’s $10 to participate. Register here.

4. Yoga and Wine Tasting
When: Friday, November 7th at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Ten Gallon Hat Winery, 455 Old Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford.

What better way to follow up an hourlong yoga class than with a glass of wine? Participants can opt for a one full glass of the good stuff, or a tasting flight of six different wines. Registration is $35. More here.

5. The Lemon Run
When: Sunday, November 9th at 8 a.m.
Where: Memorial Hall, 4231 Avenue of the Republic, Philadelphia.

This 5K run raises funds for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a national organization with local roots dedicated to fighting childhood cancer. The run begins and ends at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park, with the course covering 3.1 miles in West Fairmount Park. Registration is $35. More here.

6. Cinema Saturday at Wake Up Yoga
When: Saturday, November 8th at 7 p.m.
Where: 1839 East Passyunk Avenue, South Philly.

The studio will screen the documentary Eating Alaska, which follows an urban vegetarian who moves to Alaska in search of a sustainable, healthy and ethical meal. The $5 entry to the event will be donated to Art Change, Inc. The studio will provide free popcorn and you may bring addition drinks and snacks. More here.
