"We had one of the first weddings at The W on November 13th! I am finally now getting to write this review because as many soon to-be brides know, wedding planning is a full-time job! We toured the W with hard hats in September 2020 so it was hard to visualize how the W would look with only renderings but my husband and I were optimistic it would be beautiful. We looked at many venues in Philadelphia and were blown away by the modern, new and unique vibe. You don't feel like you are in center city when you are here! We worked with Andrew in sales, and provided him with all of our details on how we expected our wedding day to run. We toured the W several times before it opened. He was very accommodating and in constant communication with us on progress of The W. A few months before our wedding, we then met Nicole who at the time was taking on many different roles as many people have been during this pandemic. She is director of catering at The W but took on the role of wedding coordinator/event planner as well before the Director of Event Planning was hired. She was nothing short of amazing. Getting married during a pandemic can be stressful and having your wedding at a brand new venue isn’t easy either but Nicole put me at ease and made me feel comfortable during the entire process. She truly cares about you and your wedding vision. Three weeks leading up to our wedding, I was emailing/texting/calling Nicole all the time and she was always there to answer my questions and assure me my day would be beautiful. I stayed in the bridal suite the entire weekend and it was amazing!! There is no bridal suite like it in Philadelphia. The room was huge and easily fit my big bridal party for the morning of getting ready! The suite has a bluetooth speaker with many photo ops for the girls. There is a king size bed overlooking the city with blackout shades that are controlled by the click of a button. We had our ceremony in a different room than where the reception would be giving our guests the “wow factor” when they walked into the ballroom. The cocktail hour had a magnificent view of city hall and the ballroom gives off a modern vibe with LED lighting throughout the room. Our guests were on the dance floor the entire night! A few curve balls were most definitely thrown our way but overall, The W was very accommodating and did everything they could to make my wedding day run smoothly while being short staffed. I can’t believe our wedding was already 4 months ago. Thank you again, Nicole, Andrew and all of the W staff that made our wedding day the best day of our lives! We hope to be back soon!"
"We had the first New Year’s Eve Wedding at The W Philadelphia and it was the wedding of our dreams. We first looked at this venue in November 2020 before it was even opened and fell in love with the space before it was done. Andrew, in sales, was so amazing with my husband, parents, and myself. He was so great to work with and made picking a venue quite simple! He was so accommodating and made seeing the space (even during construction) so easy. We went a few times before making a final decision and he was great about it. Once the venue opened to started working with Pam. Pam was also so great to work with. From the tasting to the final walk through, and almost canceling 72 hours prior to the night of, Pam was so helpful, kind, and professional every step of the way! We still have people texting us about how amazing the night was. It’s perfect location right in center city Philadelphia, walking distance to a multitude of other hotels/restaurants/bars. We had a ton of family/friends from out of town, so they were able to easily experience Philadelphia before, between, and after the wedding! It also makes wedding photos SUPER easy being so close to city hall, we were able to walk. Having two hotels within the same building was also a GREAT feature. We had over 60 rooms in our block at two different price points, and let me tell you, the rate for these rooms ON NEW YEAR’S EVE in the city was incredible. So many family members and friends from the Philly area stayed overnight because the block was incredible. The cocktail-hour lounge gives people an amazing view of city hall and the ballroom has such a unique feel to it, it is so different in the best way. The food is incredible, the staff went above and beyond, and the space speaks for itself, it is BEAUTIFUL. We are the most grateful for Pam and Andrew because they were so willing to work with us and our numbers given the state of the world we were in. Our wedding was just as the new covid variant was spreading like rapid fire. The W was SO incredibly helpful and accommodating all the way up to the day of the wedding. My husband and I could NOT recommend the W hotel more for a wedding, start to finish it was incredible."
"I cannot recommend the W highly enough! I came to them with less than three months to plan my wedding (a previous venue fell through). I thought I had decided on my venue and then came to the W and met Nicole. She brought my vision to life of having a cocktail reception on a rooftop by hosting our reception in the Secret Garden. We had an awesome tasting, and everything on the day of was taken care of. We even got to take some gorgeous photos on their 49th floor deck! I am sad to no longer have a reason to work with Nicole but I highly recommend the W for any Philly bride"
