HughE Dillon: Shane Victorino Foundation Fashion Show

Who stole the night, who got engaged, and what Cole Hamels wore this year.

Philadelphia Phillie Shane Victorino hosted his third annual All-Star Celebrity Shane Victorino Foundation Fashion Show last night at the Union League in Philadelphia. Strutting the runway are Shane, five-year-old Kali’a, and Melissa Victorino. Kali’a is a natural, upstaging mom and dad on the runway in her Lilly Pulitzer; I expect to see her hitting the NYFW tents in about 10 years. Shane and Melissa formed the foundation to promote opportunities for underserved youth. Last year, there was a lot of skin showing; this year, the theme seemed to be centered on couples with an outlandish Cole Hamels outfit thrown in for good measure.

Below: There were a few surprises, like former Saturday Night Live comedian Joe Piscopo, who was with good friend, Center City attorney Mia Tinari. I also spotted Carol and Nino Tinari.

Below: Jimmy Rollins was without his wife, Johari, who was home with their new baby girl, Camryn Drew. At the end of the night, the Shane Victorino Foundation honored two people for their charity work: former Phillies center fielder Garry Maddox and businessman Lewis Katz.

Below: Hunter Pence with girlfriend Savannah Swetland. Seems more than just batting practice went on in Clearwater, as that’s where this new couple met. Savannah tells me she lives here now and loves Philly. Although Hunter teased that he would take off his shirt again this year, that was not the case.

Below: Wow—every year Cole Hamels makes a statement on the runway. This year it’s more of the same, but the real tragedy is these bright orange pants are clam diggers. Unfortunately, from this angle, the audience blocks his ankles. There’s a good chance he might pick up a pair for the trip to Hawaii he successfully bid on during the silent auction.

Below: Phillies outfielder John Mayberry Jr. rocked the summer look.

Below: Chase Utley’s wife, Jen, dances with the Phanatic. Another new mom on the runway last night was Stephenie Kendrick, with her husband, pitcher Kyle Kendrick. (I think orange is the color of the season.)

Below: Philadelphia-born comedian, actor, author, and filmmaker David Brenner walked the runway and tossed a Phillies hat into the audience. Brenner is 76 years old this year. Watching from the sidelines were Cliff and Kristen Lee, Brian and Jordan Schneider, Vance Worley, David Montgomery and his wife, Lyn, and Ruben Amaro Jr. and girlfriend, Jami Schnell.

Below: Ashley and Jonathan Papelbon brought a little action to the night; not only are they hot, but the parents of two took a spin or two around the floor and that ended with a kiss. Another couple making a statement on the runway: Relief pitcher Michael Schwimer dipped his wife, Missy Flemming, at the end of the runway.

Below: Earlier in the evening, Manhattanite Craig Spitzer popped the question to former Celebrity Apprentice contestant (season 3) and practicing attorney Erin Elmore on the red carpet outside the Union League. The couple plan to get married in a few months and settle here in Philadelphia.
