Man Shot Four Times With Rifle Near La Salle Campus

The shooter fired multiple rounds at a 47-year-old man standing on Chew Avenue, striking him four times. He then fled in a late-model dark-colored sedan.

Philadelphia Police today released terrifying surveillance video of a shooting in East Germantown. The shooting, at 5613 Chew Avenue, took place just a few blocks from the campus of La Salle University.

The incident took place last Thursday, the 24th, just before 1 a.m. Police say the victim, 47, was standing on Chew Avenue when a man approached him and fired multiple rounds from a rifle at him. He was struck twice in the torso, once in the buttocks and once in the left arm.

The shooter entered a dark-colored late model sedan after firing and fled the scene. The car may have had an out-of-state (or vanity) plate on the front bumper. Police did not release information on the victim’s condition.
