Your New G Philly Editor Thanks You
Thank you for reading. That’s a very good place to start. My name is Bryan Buttler, and I can’t express how excited I am to be here at G Philly. However, make no mistake: There will be a lot of your own voices incorporated into this blog, and I hope to really expand upon the already awesome work that my predecessors started through the years. There’s a lot of letters in the LGBTQ “soup,” and I hope I can continue to provide interesting news, opinion, and insight into that entire pot.
A bit about me: I’ve been writing with Philadelphia Magazine since January 2014, and my work has been primarily featured on the G Philly and Philly Mag Ticket venues, although you’ll find me popping up on some of the other website chanels on occasion. There’s nothing I like better than telling a good story, and I’ve been so lucky to share some amazing tales about the great people who make up Philly. If you’ve followed my writing, I also am not afraid to tell my opinion (when it is called for) and am not shy when it comes to controversy. I’m also super passionate about the arts, so you’ll continue to see some of my blogs on the Ticket page, manned by former G Philly super guru Josh Middleton, who is not only a fabulous writer but a great and true friend of mine.
I live right here in Center City, and I love every minute of it. Nothing beats walking out the door and diving right into whatever I want to do. I’m also an educator and teach communications, writing, and English at a local community college. When I’m not teaching or writing, you’ll most likely find me trying out one of Philly’s assortment of cocktail places, taking in some theater or opera, hanging with my family, or having some fun with friends somewhere in the city. I also love yoga, am a vegetarian, and my favorite movie of all time has got to be Grey Gardens (the original documentary, not the HBO “thing” from a few years back). I can quote it pretty religiously.
Most importantly, I want to hear from you: Please reach out to me. I’m on all social media, and my Twitter is @bryanb82. Make sure to follow G Philly on all of our channels, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Also, sign up for our weekly newsletter: Just submit your email on the box located on the right hand side of our homepage. And stay tuned! There’s a lot of exciting things happening. Thanks for reading and for your support of G Philly.
