Edward Snowden Ready to Leave Airport and Get Stranded in Real Moscow Instead

Edward Snowden’s real-life re-enactment of The Terminal could be coming to an end this week.

Former U.S. spy agency contractor Edward Snowden hopes to be granted papers by Wednesday allowing him to end his month-long stay in the transit area of a Moscow airport and move to the city center, his Russian lawyer said.

Snowden now thinks that leaving for Latin America, as he once planned, will be impossible, given the U.S.’s declared intent to try him for espionage. Either way, I have a suspicion that Terminal F of Sheremetyevo Airport will become a new Russian tourist destination, along with the Kremlin and St. Basil’s. [Reuters]
