The Discovery Channel Is In Town Filming Philadelphians Eating Turkey-Bacon Sandwiches

Philly is about to be on TV for, surprise, another unhealthy sandwich! Today, from noon to 2 p.m. the Discovery Channel will descend upon Jake’s Sandwich Board to shoot for an upcoming episode of United States of Bacon (whatever that is). Besides having a title that plays on a dying internet meme, the show features outrageous bacon creations, this time being Jake’s Turbacon sandwich. Essentially an upscale Wawa Gobbler with bacon and potato pancakes, the sammie is just the type of meat-and-cholesterol bomb that Philadelphians apparently love.
