Swift’s Single Breaks Records. Taylor Swift’s newest single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” holds the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It’s Swift’s first time at the No. 1 spot. Also, the single sold 623,000 downloads in its first week, which is an all-time record for a female artist. [EW]

Lennon’s Shooter Denied Parole. Mark David Chapman—the man convicted of the 1980 murder of John Lennon—was denied parole on Thursday. It marks the seventh time he’s been denied parole. He’ll be up for it again in 2014. [TMZ]

Kelly Clarkson Meets Delco Students. Kelly Clarkson performed with The Fray at the Susquehanna Bank Center last week. Before going on stage, Clarkson met with a group of music students from Delaware County. NBC’s Office Substitute? With The Office set to finish up at the end of the upcoming season, NBC has purchased an ensemble comedy script about a group of friends whose lives change while on the way to a destination wedding.
