The public is about to be able to purchase .xxx domain names. In preparation for this event, companies and organizations have been hurriedly registering domains to prevent every Joe Schmo and his brother from turning their marketable names into vehicles for promoting pornographic material on the Internet. Penn State is no exception. The university protected its trademarks by purchasing four domains at $200 a pop back in September. [Crossing Broad]
