There she is…Miss Gay PA. Audiences will find out which of the queens will walk away with the tiara on Dec. 3 when the pageant celebrates its 20th anniversary at the Eagle Firehouse Ballroom in New Hope (6 p.m.). The lucky winner will be qualified to compete in the annual Miss Gay U.S.A. pageant in Dallas in May.

After two decades of sashaying in Bucks County, this year’s event brings back plenty of familiar faces from the pageant days of the past, like Victoria Lace, Karen Covergirl, ShaeShae LaReese and Daesha Richardsas, as well as the reigning Miss Gay PA U.S.A. Empress Vizcaya Lord and Miss Gay PA Luscious. The event will be hosted by Angel Sheridan.

The queens vying for top honors this year will be put to the test, starting off with private personal interviews with the judges prior to the event. Contestants will also be judged on talent, which can include live singing, lipsync, “high-energy dance numbers,” or “mini Broadway-style productions.”  And then there’s the evening gown competition where everyone will be evaluated on poise, fit of the gown and the ability to give good face on the runway.

In addition to the pageant, tickets for the event also include dinner by DiSh Catering and admission to the “Meet the Contestants Party and Show” at The Raven (9 p.m.).

A portion of the evening’s proceeds benefit FACT Bucks County, which was established in 1992 to raise funds and awareness to combat the AIDS epidemic in Bucks, Hunterdon and Mercer counties.
