Polanco Hits the DL and Makes Room for Madson

Luckily it's retroactive to July 5th

The Phillies starting third baseman bowed out of Tuesday’s All-Star Game to help nurse a bulging disc in his back. But, it seems as though the time off didn’t do the trick. The organization placed Polanco on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 5th. Polly’s performance has struggled since he began battling the injury. The generally consistent Polanco went hitless in his 15 at-bats in July and has seen his average drop dramatically since the end of May. The good news? The Phils filled his roster spot by reactivating Ryan Madson. Vance Worley is on the bump at Citi Field tonight as the Fightin’s look to start the second-half strong by taking it to the Mets.
