Glee Stars Graduating

Say goodbye to the gay character

Die-hard Gleeks will have a reason to weep. Three of the series stars are graduating this year. They include Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith. Seems as though the creator of the hit Fox show Glee – Ryan Murphy – is graduating these seniors.

He told The Hollywood Reporter that more characters are leaving than staying.

“You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic,” he says, “or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.”

The future beyond high school will apparently play a leading role this season as the popular seniors embark on the rest of their lives (do we smell a spin off?).

Murphy also said that he’s excited about the way the writers are introducing parents and having discussions about college. And that Michele’s character may be among the most fascinating to watch this season as she navigates the college decision with her gay fathers.

We’re fairly confident there will be more gay themes on the horizon. Stay tuned.
