Hopefuls Come Out for New Gay Reality Show

Dozens audition for what's being billed as an LGBT version of MTV's Jersey Shore

Would-be reality stars lined up at Hammonton, N.J.’s Club In or Out on Saturday night for an open casting call for a new reality television series that starts filming in the Garden State this summer. The show’s working title, Under the Boardwalk, is being touted as the LGBT answer to MTV’s hit reality train wreck of a series Jersey Shore.

The series heterosexual creator from Los Angeles, Kate Siegel, 22, will chronicle the lives of a group of gays and lesbians living in a beach house in Atlantic City, the home of the Miss’d America drag pageant every January. Seigel is producing the show with her mother, Kim Friedman, a veteran director and producer of such TV shows as The Love Boat, Alice, A Different World and Knots Landing.

More auditions are being scheduled in the next few weeks in New York, Atlantic City and Philadelphia (check back to G Philly for details about where you can try out) in hopes of finding the lesbian version of Snooki or, get this, a gay “Situation.”
