Gay Weekend Roundup
Friday, December 17
If you’re not overwhelmed with holiday parties all weekend, then get your bad butch and femme selves to Kings & Queens & Pretty Things at Passional Boutique (7-9 p.m.). The event features photos by Leah MacDonald of Bliss Books and the 2011 Liberty City Kings calendar. The official after-party also happens to be the wall-to-wall Stimulus Holiday bash for the ladies and their friends at Marathon Grill (10 p.m. – 2 a.m.).
AxD Gallery is hosting 100!, a one-night-only exhibition of selected works by Michael Broderick. His homoerotic drawings have been published in several gay erotic art anthologies and books. Each original is being sold for $100 each.
Get in the Christmas spirit with the Pennsylvania Ballet when they perform George Ballanchine’s The Nutcracker at the Academy of Music (7 p.m.).
Later, sit on Sexy Santa‘s lap at Woody’s (10 p.m.) while sipping candy cane cocktails with proceeds benefitting MANNA.
Saturday, December 18
The Ladies of the 80s host its annual Holiday Drag Show at Cube Restaurant and Bar in Newark, Del. (9:30 p.m.) featuring Anita Mann, Karyn Thomas and Deanna Brandell. Dinner and drinks are being served so make those reservations fast.
Stir thanks its loyal patrons (read: lushes) with a special Holiday Party for Customer Appreciation (10 p.m.) with drink specials, tunes from D.J. Salotta Tea and pictures with Santa (is that you in a beard, Stacey Vey?).
Angela’s Laptop Lounge, a party for trans folks and their friends, takes over Blue Pacific in King of Prussia (10 p.m.).
Sunday, December 19
The A-List, one of Philly’s newest improv groups, performs at Tabu (6-7 p.m.). Proceeds benefit the film project “Heroes and Fairies” with a meet and greet with performers (including out funny guy Manny Perez) after the show.
