Prime Environment in Marlton is Kensington Furniture’s groovy little sister.

Think of it as Kensington Furniture’s groovy little sister. Prime Environment Furniture & Accents in Marlton welcomes shoppers with cookies, cool jazz and furniture that’s a touch hipper than Kensington’s more traditional collections up the road in Northfield.

The star is the showroom‘s own Shabby Elegance collection. Lead buyer Candice Adler finds vintage furniture and works with artisans and furniture designers to individualize each piece. A rattan couch is upholstered in a medley of checks and plaids; a vintage side table gets a piqué assiette top made of china. “If a customer likes a mosaic table, but not the color, I can go find a new vintage table and customize the colors,” says Adler.

There‘s also Natuzzi leather furniture, fresh looks from Liz Claiborne and Tommy Bahama, a kids‘ section and a free design service with a twist. An in-home consultation can be followed by a visit from the store’s Accessories Van, which rolls up to your door and lets you “try on” furniture before you commit. “We provide the muscle,” says Adler, “and you only pay for things you keep.”
