An American Bistro and Jazz Lounge Is Now Open in West Philly

A new bistro has opened in West Philly’s Cobbs Creek neighborhood, just north of 52nd and Baltimore. 720 West Bistro takes the place of erstwhile bar Blue Nile at 720 South 52nd Street.

The new spot will serve casual American fare and soul food — think burgers, wings, chicken and waffles, and blackened catfish — along with a full bar, said owner Erick Bonaparte. Chef Dayna Russo will head up the kitchen.

Bonaparte expanded the kitchen and dining room, dressed up the interior, and added a deck and private lounge space. Once the dust settles, he plans to open a jazz lounge upstairs and offer weekend brunch service.

For now, 720 West Bistro is open from 3 p.m. until 1 a.m. seven days a week. Check out the menu below (click to embiggen).
