Remember That Bar Tour of Phoenixville We Mentioned?
If you don’t, here is a little recap: Ricky Wolf, CEO of Stable 12, told us that he was planning a tour through all the bars, breweries and distilleries in the Pheonixville area, once the madness of the grand opening of their Taproom died down a bit.
Now, consider it died down, because now we have all the details, and, as always, we’re here to fill you in.
Here’s what you need to know:
The crawl, called Phlight of the Phoenix, will be on Saturday August 22nd, and is an awesome way to try out all the local wines, beers, and distilled spirits now being made in Phoenixville. You’ll be challenged to stop in all of the participating tasting rooms for a flight or tasting (which we know is a challenge you will gladly accept), and have each spot marked off on your “boarding pass.” If you finish, you get a t-shirt that declares your victory over sobriety. So all your friends know you rock at drinking–on the off chance that was not yet clear.
Logistics: the Phlight will run from 12 PM – 11 PM that Saturday, and will stop at The Barrel by A’Dello Vineyard and Winery, Bluebird Distilling, Black Walnut Winery, Iron Hill Brewery and Stable 12 Brewery. You’ll have a map, and entry is free (though you’ll have to pay for your drinks at each stop, but they’ll keep the price capped at a maximum of $15 per stop).
Stay hydrated, eat some food along the way, and if you feel you’ve overindulged, they’ve partnered with StearClear, an app similar to Uber or Lyft that connects you to professional designated drivers who will drive your car for you (and since they’re working with the bar crawl, if you register for the app before August 21st, you’ll get $40 worth of credit using the code PHLIGHT).
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the scene over in Pheonixville, this seems like a rather opportune moment because they really do have great food and great drink. And now, great t-shirts. Sounds worth a Saturday.
