Year End Re-reviews

Craig LaBanOn the last Sunday of each year Craig LaBan looks back on the year that was with his Year in Bells column. Occasionally he adjusts bells to borderline reviews from the last 12 months.

Here are some of the restaurants we’d bet that LaBan has paid a recent visit.

Alison two 1 BellAlison Barshak has closed her Alison at Blue Bell and had almost a full year to rebound from her hit-or-miss review.

Meme2 Bells – In his February review, LaBan states he’ll be back for another look at this Fitler Square restaurant at year’s end.

Del Frisco 1 Bell – Well they installed the brass pole, will that up the steakhouse’s rating?

El Camino1 Bell – Will the exit of Jen Zavala change the fortunes of this Northern Liberties border bar?

Union Trust2 Bells – The Chestnut Street Steakhouse has seen some significant change in its first year. Will any of it mean a change in rating?

Noble: American Cookery – 1 Bell – Another restaurant with a change in the kitchen is Noble: American Cookery. Will time have fixed some of Noble’s early stumbles?

Le Bec-Fin and Lacroix4 Bells – Both of these restaurants have received LaBan’s highest rating in the past but since those reviews Le Bec-Fin has gone casual and a la carte while Lacroix has a new young hot-shot chef at the helm. Will either falter in LaBan’s eyes?
