Nominate a Health Hero: The 2014 Be Well Philly Health Hero Challenge Is On

Attention! The Be Well Philly Health Hero Challenge is back for a third year, and we need to hear from you. We just opened up the nomination form over on our Facebook page, so go ahead and tell us about all amazing people in the Philadelphia region who are helping to make your community a healthier place to be.

To recap: The Health Hero Challenge, brought to you by Independence Blue Cross, is our annual contest to honor local champions of health and wellness. We’re looking for doctors, nurses, coaches, trainers, fitness instructors, friends, family members—anyone who is inspiring those around them to be healthy and happy. We’re collecting nominations until August 18th. Then, in October, we’ll begin our reader voting rounds, when you get to vote for your favorite among 16 semifinalists, as chosen by Philadelphia magazine editors.

The Challenger who receives the most votes will be crowned the 2014 Health Hero, and he or she will be honored at a blow-out celebration, featured in Philadelphia magazine, and win a $3,000 donation to his or her charity of choice. They’ll also join the ranks of our Health Hero Hall of Fame, which so far includes 2012 Health Hero Beth DuPree and 2013 Health Hero Leslie Marant.

So how about it? Who do you think is a deserving Health Hero? You can nominate as many Health Heroes as you’d like—you can even nominate yourself!—right over here.
