‘Wedding Crasher’ Thief Pleads Guilty

Joseph Franzone admitted to thefts from several weddings in the suburbs.

The “Wedding Crasher” thief — who went to wedding celebrations across the suburbs and pilfered gifts from newlyweds — has pleaded guilty to the charges, KYW 1060’s Brad Segall reports.

Joseph Franzone admitted to taking $12,000 in gifts, including cash.

“I mean, aside from it having a serious monetary impact on them in being able to have the money that they needed to start their lives together, it was also just an extremely upsetting event for them,” [Prosecutor Lindsay O’Brien] tells KYW Newsradio.

O’Brien tells the station victims will testify at sentencing; she’ll seek jail time. Franzone’s lawyer blames the crimes on a drug habit.
