Meet the Highest Paid Members of State Government

15 years ago, only 546 state employees made more than $100,000. This year? 4,831. (Tom Corbett was #190 on the list, with a 2012 salary of $178,033.) While Corbett blames Rendell for the increase in spending, the current governor has been more generous in at least one respect. “Salary data for the governor’s office shows Corbett has been looser with the purse strings in compensating his inner circle than the Rendell administration,” the Patriot-News reports. “Corbett had 10 senior staffers earning six-figure salaries last year. Five years ago, Rendell employed one senior staffer making six figures.”

While you are paying the salaries of a ton of six-figure earners, only eight people broke the $300,000 barrier.
