5 Things We’re Excited For This Month

What's on our April radar.

What’s marked on our April calendars.

Each month brings its own splashes of excitement. Store openings, major sales, new lines launching. Here are a few of the things I’m excited for this month, including two new stores, a new location for an old flea fave, a collection that is sure to ruffle feathers (in ways good and bad), and the coolest way to get flowers in Philly this summer.

1. Mushmina to open in Wayne.
The Rittenhouse boutique is opening an outpost on Lancaster Avenue early next month. It will sell its custom Moroccan accessories and home goods alongside other fair-trade and sustainable lines. Cheer! Mushmina.com.

2. The Flwry launches.
It’s like a CSA, only instead of picking up fresh veggies, you get bundles of locally sourced blooms. They’ll begin taking memberships at the end of this month; delivery starts in June. (Tip: Memberships are limited, so snag yours early.) Theflwry.com

3. Bryn Mawr’s New Market.
This spring, Clover Market, the darling of the flea scene, moves its trove of vintage and handmade goods from Ardmore to Bryn Mawr (April 26th, May 17th and June 7th); there are also two dates in Chestnut Hill (April 12th). Theclovermarket.com.

4. South Street Gets a New Home Decor Store.
At the end of this month, home store Cella Luxuria is opening a location at 331 South Street. Get more details here.

5. Lilly Pulitzer for Target hits stores.
While I won’t personally be shopping this collection, I’m excited to see how crazy it gets over there on launch day (April 19th, in case you’re not counting down). I mean, it’s already gotten nuts. I also want to see how much that giraffe-print shift will end up reselling for on Ebay three days later.
