I ate at Relish for the first time this past Sunday. My church was celebrating our 25th anniversary and we wanted a new place to go eat. I was NOT disappointed! We made reservations and only had to wait 5 mins. The service and calm atmosphere was great and the people (workers and well as other visitors) were very friendly. Oh, the FOOD was excellent...you MUST try the Southern Fried Chicken!
I plan to go back soon. I've found a new place to hang out and eat at! It's a wonderful place to go for a first date!;)

I would hear Ms.Jones and her band 7 nights a week. She is a terific singer and band leader The band was 110% energized and remarkably skilled! I didn't eat but my friends looked really happy chowing down.

Relish is an excellent place to dine and pat your feet at the same time! The service is very good also. It reminded me of Zanzibar Blue, I was very impressed. My family and several friends of mine really enjoy. I could not believe that I was only a few blocks from home. There is always room for improvement anywhere! I like Relish and plan to go back in the very near future!

I enjoyed the food but felt that the tables and seating space was really crowded. Giving them time to get it together.

My boyfriend and I went to Relish to try a new spot last Friday after Thanksgiving. He drove down from Newark, NJ to spend time while I was visiting PA from New York City. I told him that this place was owned by Warmdaddy's owners which is a favorite spot of ours. Needless to say the service was spotty at best from our server. The food quality was subpar and the room where Kathy Sledge performed lacked heat and ambiance. Maybe we are spoiled by NYC eateries however Relish is not living up to its potential. Warmdaddy's food, service and ambiance are much better. We appreciate supporting black owned establishments and suggest the owners re-vamp their restaurant to be more similar to Warmdaddy's.

I came all the way from Trenton, New Jersey and was somewhat disappointed. The food portions I felt were very small for what you paid. We each ordered collard green and they came out cold. The place was warm and inviting but I would take warmdaddy's over this place anyday. They had stated over the phone that they had live jazz. I was thinking that it would be over dinner but we were in a completely different room which I could barely hear the music. I was very disappointed in this restaurant.

I am from Mt. Airy but have been living in Maryland for quite a while. When I visit "home" my girlfriends and I try to rfind a nice spot to eat, relax and catch up! Relish is just the place to do all of the above. Typically I do not order fried chicken when eating out but I heard such raves about Relish's fried chicken that I thought I would take a chance. For 15.95 I received half a chicken....leg, wing, breast and thigh deep fried in buttermilk batter!!!! The greens were cooked to perfection and the mashed sweet potates. I do not have enough words to describe the cornbread. I could just order that except for the expanding waistline. Our waiter, Rahim was fabulous too. He had a great deal of personality and made our evening fun.

I am just back from a delicious brunch buffet at the Relish. The variety of dishes ranging from soul food to fruits and good old breakfast was excellent. Service was considered and very hospitable. The music is from the finest with the perfect volume leaving space for a cultivated conversation. The only downside was that it place in general was getting to crowed at some time.
Overall, this will not be my last time!

I went there twice. The first time I went.I was charged for a beer that I paid for earlier. The second was last Saturday. I order fish, greens and yams, the portion was so small for $15.95, I thought it was for a child around six years old, and they never bought out the cornbread I ordered with my meal, so, I told the waiter to take it off my bill. They charge too much for a little bit of food. When people spend money, they want to see what they are paying for. Relish won't last long .I know a few people who are not going back there to eat as well as myself

I choose Relish to host my husband's suprise 50th birthday party last Sunday. We had a party of 70 guests. With Sherri Stevens, event coordinator at the helm it was a smashing success!!Everyone is still raving about the great service, excellent food, and awesome entertainment - live music featuring international recording artist Nneka Best. Some of our guests have already returned and several of us are planning to return for an evening of jazz and dining. Thanks for making this milestone in my husband's life an event he will always remember!!

I chose Relish for my birthday dinner which turned out to be a mistake. The food was very good, and our waitress was quite pleasant but overall timeliness and service left much to be desired. The martini's were weak and even warm by the time they reached us. One of our appetizers arrived without share dishes or even a serving spoon. The other one, the cornbread arrived much later with an apology and an offer for a complimentry appetizer to take home. At least an hour after our arrival we received our meals which were, but it was 10:00pm. We left disgruntled without our complimentary appetizer after reminding the waitress twice I simply was not going to beg. I enjoyed the food and might return, but only if I wasn't really hungry and had an infinite amount of time to wait.

The restaurant was very nice. My only complaint was ..I had a reservation and still had to wait 1 hour not to mention it took forever for the food to come out. Living an hour away from the city made my birthday celebration alittle not so happy. But I will say the food was superb and I am even thinking about going there again for my husband's 40th birthday celebration....I give everyone a second chance.

From the hostess to the waiters & waitresses, the atmosphere was wonderful with politeness, a smile and gracious staff. They were very accommodating with reservations if changes occurred. The food was superb and the entertainment was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend and return again myself.

My husband & I took our son and daughter-in-law for their birthday along with the 2 granddaughters. The service was great, Chris our waiter was the best, and the food was sooo delicious. Our selections were catfish, salmon, and fried chicken and we all enjoyed. I had a birthday cake for their b'day and Chris brought it out with candles and cut and served it. I was soo impressed and would tell all how good it is to eat at Relish. Oh and when I got the bill I was surprised it was lower than what I thought.

My husband and I went last weekend. Food was wonderful. So happy to have Relish in West Oak Lane. Yes it's not in Germantown as listed.
The portions are healthy. My only complaint is if you're sitting at one of the small tables, the plates are too big for the table so it made it a little uncomfortable eatting, but we managed!

food is wonderful, service is good, but when you order wine you get a half of a glass and just a normal size wine glass.
