Question: We’ve set the date, sent out our wedding invitations, and made the reservation for our rehearsal dinner the night before. But how far in advance should we send out the invitations to our guests?

Answer: You should aim to have your rehearsal dinner invitations sent out about four weeks before the Big Day, says Patty Tawadros of Smoochie Paper—this will ensure that your guests have already received the wedding invitation.

There’s one caveat, though: If you’re inviting out-of-town guests who will need to purchase plane tickets, Tawadros suggests sending their rehearsal dinner invite within a week of mailing the primary invitation so that they can book their flights in advance and won’t miss out on any of the festivities. (Or, you can always just give them a call to alert them of the rehearsal date before sending out the official invite, she says.)
