On Thursday, April 22, 2010, the Rotunda in The Shops at Liberty Place was transformed for Rittenhouse Row's Spring Festival Kickoff Party. Guests enjoyed cuisine from popular Rittenhouse Row restaurants and voted on their favorite spring cocktails, such as the Ketel One Oranje™ Fizz. The Infiniti Lounge featured the latest vehicles, along with a wine and cheese bar. Guests also sipped on Blue Moon beer and vitaminwater zero™ as they mingled and bid on items in the silent auction.
On Wednesday, April 21, 2010, the Fairmount Park Conservancy celebrated the legacy of two of Fairmount Park’s most dedicated champions, John K. Binswanger and Edith R. Dixon, at the park’s Horticulture Center. The evening included Philadelphia’s top business and civic leaders and featured remarks by Mayor Michael A. Nutter and NBC’s Chris Matthews. The event raised more than $400,000 to benefit the Fairmount Park Conservancy, and marked the reopening of the Horticulture Center as an event venue.
On Saturday, April 17, 2010, Philadelphia magazine and the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies teamed up for an exclusive pre-game party at Citizens Bank Park. The event featured visits from Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino, the Phillies broadcast team, alumni, Phillies ballgirls and the Phillie Phanatic. In addition to the evening's special guests, fans enjoyed ballpark fare, entertainment, and giveaways provided by WMGK. After the reception, fans watched the Phillies take on the Florida Marlins. On Saturday, April 17, 2010, Independence Blue Cross hosted the 7th Annual Coaches Vs. Cancer Basketball Gala at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue. Guests enjoyed fine food, cocktails, live music by the FM Band, and unique live and silent auction items. Proceeds benefited the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge of the American Cancer Society, a brand new 37-room facility located a quarter-mile from Fox Chase Cancer Center for cancer patients and their family members to stay at no cost during treatment.
