Woman Raped Midday at Center City SEPTA Station [UPDATED]

Police are searching for this man in an incident that happened Monday.

The Philadelphia Police Department is searching for the man seen above as the suspect in a rape and aggravated assault that occurred on Monday afternoon at SEPTA’s Jefferson Station, formerly known as Market East.

Police say that the victim, a 27-year-old woman, was walking with the man near 10th and Filbert streets around 1 p.m. when the suspect led the woman into the SEPTA station with him. According to a bulletin sent out by Special Victims Unit, the suspect asked the woman for sex before physically assaulting and raping her.

The suspect is described by police as follows: “25 – 28 B/M, 5’10”-5’11”, 150 lbs, thin build, black coat with silver trim, red and white scarf, black knit hat, black jeans, grey sneakers carrying a red back pack.”
