N.J. State Police: 2 Children Shot to Death in Burlco Home

Two children were killed and two other people wounded in a shooting in Burlington County. Police believe it was a murder-suicide.

New Jersey state police confirmed today that two children, a boy and a girl, were killed and two other people wounded in a shooting in Tabernacle. Other family members discovered the bodies and surviving victims, per state police.

Police believe the incident to be a murder suicide, according to 6 ABC. “There is not a massive manhunt going on,” Capt. Stephen Jones told reporters. “The public should not be alarmed or feel threatened.”

Neighbors told the station it is a house with several families in it. The shooting took place sometime between midnight and 9 a.m.

The entire area around the house has been closed to the public. The two people who survived, a boy and an adult woman, are in critical condition at Cooper Hospital in Camden.

State police and the Burlington County prosecutor’s office are investigating. Police are planning another update later today.
