Chris Christie Scandal Dominating News Cycle

Goodbye polar vortex, hello bridgegate.

Flip on the CBS or NBC nightly news last night? Bridgegate. Anderson Cooper? Rachel Maddow? Bridgegate. Bill O’Reilly? No mention, oddly… Anyways, most of the coverage re-hashed what we already know: Senior members of Chris Christie’s staff exchanged emails plotting to close down parts of the George Washington Bridge for several days and ensnare traffic on the Jersey side of the Hudson River, in order to punish a Democratic mayor who refused to endorse Christie.

The latest development, from the paper that broke this story, the Bergen Record, is that EMS responders were delayed in attending to a91-year-old woman lying unconscious because of the traffic. She later died in a hospital of cardiac arrest.

Clips from last night. MSNBC's Chris Hayes talking to Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich:

John Dickerson on the CBS Nightly news, breaking down the political ramifications of the scandal.

Anderson Cooper, doing his thing.
