Jersey Teacher Made Five-Year-Old Eat a Bagel From the Trash

A Cumberland County mother is outraged after she says a teacher Deerfield Township Elementary School made her 5-year-old daughter eat a bagel out of the trash. She says that her daughter threw the bagel out because she didn’t like it. The teacher apparently pulled the bagel out of the trash and made the girl eat it in front of the rest of the class.

School Board President William Miller stated, “We obviously would not condone that sort of behavior. It is ridiculous to think that we would consider that OK for one of our students. However, with that being said, I cannot comment further until all the facts are substantiated.”

The mother says that the teacher admitted pulling the bagel from the trash and making the girl eat it and explained that there was only paper in the trash can. [NJ.com]
