BUY THIS: The Ultimate Coming Out Present

Kitchenette manager Michael Yurkovich sent this image of a new coffee mug he’s selling that has to be one of the best coming-out gifts out there. When it’s empty, the cup is surrounded by a bunch of doors — closet doors if you will. But when you add hot water or coffee — voila! — the doors disappear and a band of gay revolutionaries pop out of the closet, people like Willa Cather, Oscar Wilde, James Baldwin, Gertrude Stein and Freddy Mercury. Actually, come to think of it, it’d make a pretty sweet LGBT History Month gift, too.

It’s made by Brooklyn’s The Unemployed Philosophers Guild, and it retails for $14.99 at Kitchenette (117 S. 12th St.) in the Gayborhood. Click the slideshow below to watch it do its magic.
