McCoy Suffers Concussion Vs. Redskins

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy.Eagles running back LeSean McCoy left Sunday’s game with a concussion, Andy Reid said after the team’s 31-6 loss to the Redskins.

McCoy finished the game with 15 carries for 45 yards. He was also the team’s leading receiver with six catches for 67 yards.

The concussion occurred on a 7-yard carry with under two minutes left in the fourth quarter. Redskins safety Madieu Williams appeared to have hit McCoy, helmet-to-helmet, on the play.

When asked after the game why McCoy was still on the field at that time, Reid said, “Because we’re trying to catch up and win the game.”

McCoy’s primary backup all season has been Bryce Brown. Brown had five carries for 35 yards against Washington. Chris Polk has been out with a toe injury (missed the last two games). The Eagles also have Dion Lewis.

Reid said Brent Celek tested out ok. There were no other injuries.
