Eagles Draft Tracker: Visits And Workouts

Back by popular demand (OK, a couple people e-mailed), here is our 2013 Eagles draft tracker.

Between now and April 25, we’ll keep track of the team’s official draft visits and prospect workouts in this space.

If you’re new here, a couple reminders.

First of all, teams meet with a lot of prospects this time of year. The Eagles won’t end up drafting everyone on this list, but in most cases, it indicates some level of interest.

It’s also worth noting that not all pre-draft meetings are created equal. NFL teams are allowed to host 30 prospects on “official visits” to the team facility. Those players are in bold below.

There are no such rules when it comes to working out prospects on their own campuses. The Eagles can do as much of that as they want.

As always, this list is a work-in-progress, so if I missed anybody, feel free to e-mail me at skapadia@phillymag.com.

And hat tip to Tommy Lawlor, who has been doing a good job of rounding a bunch of these up.

Do the Eagles typically use all thirty of their “official visit” slots?

    • CJ

there’s no harm in doing so, it’s almost foolish not to. And some years they even go over: local products w/in a certain mileage don’t count against the 30.

  • takeo

As far as I can remember they very rarely selected players whom they made pay a visit in Philly under Reid regimen

    • http://twitter.com/mgrisez7 Matthew Grisez

simply not true, 2011 the eagles visited with or worked out the following players that they drafted, Jaiquawn Jarret, Curtis Marsh, Casey Matthews, Jason Kelce, Brian Rolle and in 2012 Draft/RFA Fletcher Cox, Vinny Curry Nick Foles, Dennis Kelly, Damaris Johnson, Phillip Thomas.

      • Luke Ivan

        hit him with that knowledge

  • Brent E. Sulecki

If the team signs Butler i could definitely see a heavy offensive draft with exception to maybe one or two picks. 7 offensive guys 2 defensive. or at least 6 and than 3.

    • CJ

even w/ Butler this team still needs an NT for the vet to mentor, another 3-4 DE, and arguably a Safety and/or CB.

      • UKEagle99

Definitely a CB. Far far too many question marks over the current crop.

The lack of adding in free agency play makers on defense is a concern to me. I am not seeing in the draft play makers who interest the Eagles at this point. We need more than role players.

    • FMWarner

You’d like to see more playmakers, but who? Goldson went for way too much money because he was off the board immediately.

    • UKEagle99

I’d settle for a cohesive unit that put it on the line for each other and don’t stand and point when things don’t go to plan. Save the pointing for the meeting room…

  • GokhanEagle

Let me give you a lessor known name that the Eagles have showed alot of interest in this offseason. This kid is a diamond in the rough…Big Hitter who can play both safety positions(hitting and looks have been compared to laron landry, but he is much better in coverage, accumulating 9ints the past two season. He is a D2 star from Cal(PA), Mr. Rontez Miles. Keep his name in mind, he might become an eagle..

another safety prospect I believe in but dont know if Eagles have shown any interest is Dexter McCoil, 6’4 Big HItting safety out of Tulsa…He is my number 1 target for the 7th round…I also believe in 6’4 safety cooper Taylor. I would take both 6′;4 Sageties in the 7th and hope 1 can become a stud! I really really believe Dexter McCoil will be the next richard Sherm…hope the eagles believe it too!

  • grump

I like that the brought in RGI

  • TheKingCray

What about Sheldon Richardson? My goal is to trade the 4th pick to the Dolphins for the 12th and (I believe) 42nd pick and draft Star Lotulelei or Sheldon Richardson (if Star is gone) with 12th and Kyle Long with 42nd.

  • brza

According to this link LSU RB Spencer Ware has also visited the Eagles:

Can we get one of these going for 2014 Draft?
