Hey, runners: Your favorite holiday, National Running Day, is tomorrow! And while a jaunt across the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk or a trail run through the Wissahickon would totally suffice when it comes to celebrating, we’ve got a few other options in mind. And no offense to your long run, but we’re thinking they’ll be a better time — because, well, free water ice and beer. Check ‘em out below.

What: #ShoesAndBrews with the November Project
When: 6:25 a.m.
Where: The Art Museum Steps

As usual, the November Project will be holding their weekly free boot camp at the Art Museum Steps, but this time around they will be collecting shoes through ShoeBox Recycing, who will donate 50 cents per pound of shoes to Back on My Feet and Students Run Philly Style. And everyone who donates a pair of shoes will get a free beer. Get it? Shoes and Brews. Plus, they’ll have coupons from Philadelphia Runner on deck, and maybe some surprises. They’ll also have root beer for non-drinkers and kids. Best morning workout ever? Probably. You can let them know you’re coming here.

What: Run to Rita’s with Philadelphia Runner
When: 6 p.m.
Where: Philadelphia Runner University City, 3621 Walnut Street and Philadelphia Runner Manayunk, 4358 Main Street.

Philadelphia Runner will be hosting two three-mile runs to Rita’s, one from the University City Store and one from the Manayunk store, tomorrow at 6 p.m. All you have to have to do is show up and pound the pavement with them, and they’ll pick up the tab for your water ice at the finish line. Yes, please!

What: Chalk the City with Back on My Feet
When: All day.
Where: All over the city!

Back on My Feet leads weekly runs with five shelters throughout the city, and this Wednesday, during their normal run time (5:30 a.m.), they’ll be chalking the city with “I run because …” statements to show everyone why running is awesome. But if there’s a zero-percent chance of you lacing up your sneakers before sunrise, no worries: You’re totally welcome to chalk the city on your own at at a more reasonable hour. Just hashtag your statement with #RunningDay and the running group you belong to, if you have one! (And feel free to hashtag your running day posts with #bewellphilly, too! We’d love to see what you’re saying.)
