Rex 1516 Is Launching Its First-Ever Chef’s Tasting Menu
They're highlighting the cuisine of a different Southern state each month, starting on March 22nd.
Rex 1516’s elevated Southern fare is about to get regional.
Executive chef Justin Swain and chef de cuisine Jon Raffa are kicking off a new tasting menu this week — a first for the Graduate Hospital restaurant — with a twist.
Each month, the $45 tasting menu will highlight dishes inspired by the cuisine of a different Southern state. There’s a pretty great beverage pairing add-on, too: another $20 gets you an amaro, two blues-inspired cocktails, and two beers to accompany your meal.
This Thursday, March 22nd, they’ll start off with a Louisiana-centric menu. The Texas menu debuts on April 19th, with the Carolinas on May 24th and Georgia on June 21st.
