Do Puzzles, Drink Beer: Events At Third State Brewing

Did you know that today is National Puzzle Day? Of course you did. Did you know that if you bring a puzzle to work on at Third State Brewing in Burlington, NJ, tonight, you’ll get a dollar off your pints and flights? Didn’t think so.

According to the guys at the new downtown storefront brewery, “Studies have found that when we work on a jigsaw puzzle, we use both sides of the brain, and spending time daily working on puzzles improves memory, cognitive function and problem solving skills. They are also a very good way to socialize and spend time with friends and family.”

Also, it gets you a buck off your pint. Did we mention that already?

So bring your kids and have some beers. If you haven’t gotten over to Third State yet, allow us to highly recommend it. The three owners have about 40 years of homebrewing experience between them, head brewer Bill Pozniak won a national homebrewing contest that awarded him with a week spent brewing at Pilsner Urquell (with the master brewer himself), and they are really, truly the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet. Full disclosure: I’ve been friendly with them for several years but I swear they’re just as nice to everybody!

If you can’t make it tonight, leave the kids at home and head over on any Friday in February for Cards Against Beermanity. Teams will compete against one another and win points for funny question/answer combinations and for answering beer questions correctly. The winning team receives a $25 gift card to the brewery. Runner up wins an unfilled growler, and everyone in the third place team gets a branded keychain opener.
