Will Smith Teases 2016 World Tour With DJ Jazzy Jeff

Last week, after months of speculation that he would be getting back in the music business, Will Smith surprise-dropped his first single in more than a decade. It’s not great, but it at least got people talking about what the megastar actor/rapper would be doing next. Today we have an answer. In an interview with Beats 1 radio host Zane Lowe, the Philly-born star opened up about his music plans and even hinted that he may go on tour with DJ Jazzy Jeff.

During the interview, which you can see above, Smith says he’s been dropping tracks in the studio every day. So far he’s got 30 new songs recorded—“six or seven that I really, really like, that I’m trying to get the ideas to come out right,” he says. “I have so many things that I want to say and I’m struggling with saying them in a way that fit the flavor of music that I tend to like.”

Then the big news: “I’m pretty certain I’m going on tour. … Jeff and I actually never have done a full tour. I was always on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, I was always either making a movie, so we’ve never actually done a full tour. So I’m looking this summer to be the first time that we go out on a full world tour.”

You know they’re gonna kick off that sucker in Philadelphia. Or at least they better. Check out the full interview above.
