HughE Dillon: Shane Victorino Foundation Fashion Show

The Phillies strut on the runway, Hunter Pence strips (and attends with a Playmate date), Jen Utley shows off her maternity style and more

The Phillies had a day off Thursday between the Mets and Marlins, but that doesn’t mean the boys weren’t working. Several of the Phillies players, their wives and local celebrities participated in the Shane Victorino Foundation Fashion Show held at the Union League in Center City last night. Below, Dave and Lyn Montgomery flank Shane and Melissa Victorino.

In its second year, the Shane Victorino Foundation has pledged nearly $1 million to Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia to renovate their 105-year-old Nicetown unit. Below, Jen Utley, who I hear is due at the beginning of December, poses with a guest at the VIP cocktail party held before the fashion show.

Below: Jesse Rendell, Melanie King, Ed Rendell and Billy King, general manager of the New Jersey Nets and former general manager and team president of the Philadelphia 76ers. Melanie and Billy were looking forward to participating in the fashion show, with Melanie sporting Zac Posen and Billy wearing J Mendel.

Below: Jill Hamels, Heidi Hamels and GN Kang. Seven-months-pregnant Heidi tells me that she loved participating in last year’s fashion show, but because she slipped on the runway last year it made her nervous to walk this year. But next year she’ll be back.

Below: Ryan Howard and fiancé Krystle Campbell. The evening began with a cocktail reception and an auction filled with incredible items including a signed Sixers Dr J jersey, which was at $1,500 when I checked. There was also a “Lagos Diamond Champagne Chance.” For $50, guests entered a raffle to win a Lagos Diamond and Caviar bracelet valued at $3,500, plus they got a glass of champagne.

Below: Ruban Amaro, Jr., Joanne Berwind and Georges Perrier. After the cocktail reception, guests headed to the Lincoln Room for dinner and the fashion show.

Below: Jimmy and Johari Rollins.

Soon-to-be proud papa Chase Utley is layered in fashion. Kyle and Stephenie Kendrick were on the guest list, but bailed at the last minute as their baby girl is due any minute now. Stephenie told me at the Hamels event a few weeks ago that she hoped their baby girl would be born before the Phillies go back out on the road, or they were going in for a C-section a few days before. Kyle really wants to be there for the birth of their first child.

Ryan Howard and Cole Hamels strike a pose. Other Phillies walking were John Mayberry, Jr., Ben Francisco and wife Cindy, former Phil Jamie Moyer and wife Karen, Mitch Williams, and boxer Bernard Hopkins.

Philadelphia Union soccer player Kyle Nakazawa did an impromptu strip act at the fashion show—and ended up throwing his leather jacket into the crowd. I hope Saks got it back.

Not to be upstaged by Kyle Nakazawa, newest Phillie Hunter Pence did a little stripping himself before tossing his Phillies shirt into the audience. Looking on is Jamie Moyer, Mitch Williams and Shane Victorino. Wasting no time since arriving in Philly at the end of July, Hunter Pence was accompanied to the event by Playboy Playmate Shannon James, who he met at the Hamels Foundation Diamond and Denim event on August 11th. (Some of you may recall that I tweeted that a blonde had given her number to him that evening. I guess he called her.)

Below: In case you are wondering … here’s Playboy Playmate Shannon James at the Hamels event August 11th.

Melissa, Shane and Kali’a Victorino and everyone’s favorite, the Phanatic, closed out the show. The next big event for the foundation is on September 22nd with the grand opening of the Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys & Girls Club. See you there.
