Profile

There are no carafes of chianti or “pasta with meat sauce” at this Mediterranean-Italian trattoria, located in the bottom of the Ocean Club condos complex (right next to the Tropicana). Instead, there is an impressive list of wines by the glass, and homemade spinach ravioli. Looking to reminisce about the old neighborhood? Go to Angelo’s Fairmount Tavern. Looking to feast on toothsome homemade pappardelle, crisp, brick-oven pizzas sized for one, positively nonna-worthy veal milanese and a truly impressive selection of carpaccio? Come here ... just leave time to enjoy a cocktail or grappa in the sunny, Versace-outfitted lounge.

Menu looks delicious. Prices are reasonable. This restaurant is a complete DISAPPOINTMENT and waste of time. Bar ladies are very pre-occupied with IMPORTANT LOCAL CLIENTLE. Very auspicious. As well this restaurant pretends to be 'EVERYTHING AND DELIVERS ONLY A NICE GLASS OF WINE/VINO AT A REASONABLE PRICE' Unless you are recognized by their staff as a VIP . . . . Forget dinning at this place. They are all about TAKING CARE OF THEIR OWN! DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE. IT SMELLS OF ITALIAN UNDERGROUND!!!!!!!! Oh . . . . ., be sure that you are dressed to 'MEET THE SULTAN' BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT SEEMS TO GET THE BAR MAIDS ATTENTION. We waited at the bar for over 2 hours for our table. Absolute NONSENSE. We're both professional chefs and this is just not NORMAL restaurant behaviour. When we were finally seated, they seated us outdoors which is where we said right from the moment we entered that we did not want to be seated. We sat at the bar waiting for our table patiently whilst many very handsome and beautiful people came in many minutes after us and were seated IMMEDIATELY. We called the restaurant from our cell phone while we sat there waiting and were told that they did not take reservations. Odd, so many people came in after us yet were seated before us. They probably had no idea at all that my husband is a freelance restaurant journalist. I can not wait until my husband reports our experience to his publicist. Food may have been good, however, we left after 2 hours of watching others who came after us get seated before us. Best advice: Do not eat here.
