MOM’s Organic Market Is Coming to East Market

There’s a new grocery story coming to Center City. While all of the buzz is generally around Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s, East Market, the game- and name-changing development between 11th and 12th on Market, has signed on MOM’s Organic Market to anchor 16,000 square-feet of space in the building at 34 S. 11th Street. The building will also feature 160,000 square-feet of hip, warehouse-style office space.

MOM’s Organic Market marks the first retail tenant for the East Market development.

The team at East Market has openly stated that the development is driven by the growing Millennial population in the city. Daniel Killinger, Director of Development for East Market, echoed that sentiment in a press release:

“The mission and clientele of MOM’s Organic Market aligns perfectly with East Market … East Market will be a dynamic urban environment for young professionals and innovators who place value on experience and convenience. We are full speed ahead building an exciting development and look forward to adding more tenants that fulfill the vision of reviving Market Street.”

MOM’s Organic Market has another area location in Bryn Mawr (it’s a Best of Philly Winner as well) and this will be their first foray within the city. Specializing in 100% certified organic produce, the store will also feature prepared lunches, free electric car chargers and a recycling program for light bulbs, shoes, batteries, cell phones and more. According to The Inquirer, there will be 55 free parking spaces for customers.

The building at 34 S. 11th Street will also house 160,000 square-feet of warehouse-style Class A office space geared at attracting “Philadelphia’s most innovative companies” with large open floor plans, high ceilings, full height windows. The HVAC system, elevators and lobby are all being renovated as well.
