This Map Shows the Average Age for Getting Hitched All Over the World

Do you know what the average age is for getting married in this country? What would you guess about other countries? It’s interesting stuff to look at, which is why we’ve been staring at this map put together by Priceonomics:

Average marrying ages, broken down by country by Priceonomics.

Basically, what they found (using info from the United Nations) is that people in developed countries tend to get married at a later age. (It’s still hovering around 27 here for the ladies, and more like 30 for the dudes.) They also found out that marriage is still a thing all over the world: there were only about a dozen countries where 80 percent of all the people weren’t married by the time they were 49—and that doesn’t even include people living in domestic partnerships.

Sounds like “the backup plan” might be a universal thing, too, huh?
