To celebrate its 160 years of impact on the Greater Philadelphia Area, Elwyn presented “A Philadelphia Story” for the 32nd Friends of Elwyn Ball on May 4, 2012. The gala itinerary included a 500 person dinner with a menu featuring Philadelphia-centric delicacies, a sampling of fine cheeses provided by International Food Distributors, musical entertainment by Chico’s Vibe, and a visit by a well-known Mummer string band. Following the Ball, attendees headed over to the Red and Clover Room for the Elwyn Bounce, a club-like gala after-party organized by Elwyn’s Young Professionals Bounce Committee.

On Thursday, May 3, 2012, 700 of the city’s corporate and hospitality headliners joined Hub entrepreneurs Bill Decker and John New for a grand opening celebration at Two Commerce Square. The evening began with red carpet arrivals. There were many special activities and entertainment options, including live musical performances and comedy sketches, caricatures and tarot card readings, shutterbooths and shoe shines, to signature food stations from Starr Events, plus charitable activities and auctions for CHOP and PhillyPatientRides.

On Saturday, April 28, 2012, the Temple University Hospital Auxiliary hosted the 2012 “Acres of Diamonds” Gala at the Westin Philadelphia. This year’s event—chaired by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Giagnacova—honored The Temple Burn Center, the region’s only adult Burn Center at a Level I Trauma Center. The 2012 Diamond Award was presented to Dr. William Hughes, Medical Director of The Temple Burn Center. CBS 3 Medical Specialist Stephanie Stahl served as the emcee.
