Philadelphia Young Playwrights held its annual benefit, Write On! A Celebration of Student Voices, on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at World Cafe Live. Attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception before the awards ceremony and live performances of plays and monologues written by the 2010 winners of the Young Playwrights' Annual Playwriting Festival. Mayor Michael Nutter was present along with Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown, and many students, teachers, playwrights and community leaders. Attendees at the National Constitution Center's "Shaken, Not Stirred" cocktail party enjoyed the Spies, Traitors & Saboteurs: Fear and Freedom in America exhibition on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Guests watched James Bond films on a big screen, played James Bond trivia games and created spy decoders to uncover hidden messages in the museum. Lisa Nutter, with nonprofit Philadelphia Academies, Inc, held the annual fundraising event called "The Party 2011" on April 30, 2011 at Loews Philadelphia Hotel. In attendance were hundreds of the city's biggest business associates, education advocates and community leaders. On April 29, 2011, in celebration of the Royal Wedding, Parx Casino hosted its own monumental event! “Prince William” and “Kate Middleton” exchanged wedding vows, and live trumpeters played music throughout the celebration as local couples came to Parx Casino to renew their wedding vows on this special day! A surprise flash dance mob broke out immediately following “William and Kate’s” wedding vows, which flooded the main lobby with dancers! Photography by HughE Dillon
 
On April 28, 2011, Philadelphia Phillies’ second baseman, Chase Utley and his wife, Jennifer Utley hosted the 4th Annual Utley All-Star Animals Casino Night at the Electric Factory to raise funds for the Pennsylvania SPCA’s efforts to fight animal cruelty. Guests had the opportunity to mingle and enjoy casino-themed fun and games with local celebrities, as well as players from the 2011 Philadelphia Phillies.
