The Philadelphia 76ers are pulling a card out of the Eagles’ hat when it comes to honoring ex-player accomplishments: They won’t.

Sixers chairman Ed Snider has decided not to lay it on for current Denver Nuggets guard Allen Iverson tonight when A.I. returns to Philly for the first time since being traded 15 months ago. There will no video montage or special speeches, only the typical pre-game announcement of opposing players.

Power 99 DJ Golden Girl (a.k.a. Lisa Natson) is getting some online gossip traction thanks to her alleged account of what it was like to go girl-on-girl with rap star Lil’ Kim.

But elsewhere in her very short self-published book Sex and Celebrities: The Truth, The Whole Truth, The Naked Truth — in which Natson graphically describes some of her more famous bedpost notches, including Kim, Ice T, and former New Edition singer Ralph Tresvant — the radio harlot says that former Sixers guard Allen Iverson gave her “the best sex” of her life. You’d be hard-pressed to say former Sixers supa-star Allen Iverson misses being in Philadelphia, especially when he offers these cutting assessments to the Rocky Mountain News: “I look at the [Sixers’] games right now, and it looks like a rec-league game or an AAU game when you see the attendance there. It just looks dull.”

Cold, man, cold. But true.

In a separate story, salt-and-peppered Sixers writer Phil Jasner examines the Iverson trade on its one year anniversary. (It seems so much longer than that, for some reason). Yes, the stormy relationship between Iverson, this city, this team, his coaches and “practice” needed to end, but it’s still tough to consider that deal as a positive. Especially if you look at the empty seats at the Wachovia Center and the team that’s left behind.
