A man and woman were taken into police custody Monday night after they were found on the roof of the Hyatt at the Bellevue in Center City with camera equipment, smoke grenades, butane fluid and dish soap, said Chief Inspector Joseph Sullivan.

Police received a 9-1-1 call about people on the roof of the hotel around 7:20 p.m. Sullivan said the couple, whose names were not released, were staying at another hotel in the city.

Investigators are still trying to determine what, exactly, the man and woman were doing on the roof of the hotel. They may face charges of illegal trespass. Neither was injured.

Sullivan said police were alarmed by the report of people on the roof of the hotel in light of the sniper attack in Dallas last week that left five cops dead and seven wounded. Two civilians were also wounded in that incident.
