Chris Christie Trying to Force Jersey Moms to Breastfeed

Chris Christie–or at least his underlings in the New Jersey Department of Health–is telling new moms they best be breast-feeding their young’uns. Or else.

The department last week proposed regulations that would require hospitals to give support and education to mothers who want to breastfeed their babies. Mothers who want to use formula would be allowed to.

OH THANK GOD. Mothers who want to use formula would be allowed to. And I thought we lived in a totalitarian country! In all seriousness, New Jersey is pretty intense about getting moms to breastfeed. Myth: Formula is as good as human milk. NJ: WRONG.

Myth: Breastfeeding hurts. NJ: Man up, wusses.

Myth: Breastfeeding causes sexual stimulation. NJ: Whoa, speak for yourself. You don’t know what I’m feeling.
