There’s a New Igloo in Fishtown

Just in time for the warm weather, Fishtown is getting a new dessert shop that’s offering a whole array of chilly treats, properly named The Igloo.

On April 2nd, The Igloo will be welcoming their neighbors for the grand opening of their shop located at 1514 Frankford Ave. They’ll be handing out free samples of all of their frozen desserts, offer face painting for the kids, and will hold a raffle for a $100 Heffe Tacos gift card at 4 p.m.

As for the menu? It’s a frozen dessert lovers dream (ahem, me) with treats like custard, water ice, ice cream, homemade Igloo Pops, shakes, and affogatos. In addition, they’ll offer their signature soft serve salted caramel gelato, dark chocolate Italian sorbet, and their homemade soft serve frozen Greek yogurt.

The Igloo team—Isaac Parker, Bill Chlebowski, and Caroline Smith— have another location on 23rd and South and they plan to make the Fishtown location as community-oriented as their flagship shop.

So while the new Igloo isn’t igloo-shaped like I hoped, it’s still going to be a cool place (see what I did there?) to hang out and enjoy your favorite frozen dessert on a warm day.
