Tonight: Elizabeth LaBan @ the Free Library
Author Elizabeth LaBan will stop by the Free Library tonight in support of her new novel The Restaurant Critic’s Wife. LaBan’s husband, of course, is the Inquirer‘s longtime restaurant critic Craig LaBan, so the title has raised a few eyebrows around town. But rest assured, the book — like Elizabeth LaBan’s 2013 novel The Tragedy Paper — is a work of fiction, and she’s already forewarned readers not to expect a true-life tell-all. That said, the title character does have “a fact-crazed, anonymity-obsessed restaurant critic” for a spouse, so says the Inquirer‘s Michael Klein. So. Read into it a little.
