About Last Night: A Birthday Battle At COOK

It was a birthday battle last night at COOK, with Aila DeVowe of Bar Ferdinand going up against Ron Silverberg from a. kitchen in our culinary Thunderdome. And contrary to past battles (and somewhat in honor of the holiday season), we decided to be nice this time around–offering up not only a whole host of secret ingredients for the chefs to choose from, but also pausing in mid-battle to celebrate Aila’s birthday, which just happened to fall on the night of her COOK Open Stove debut.

Still, despite the fact that we were all trying to score points with Santa by being good to the chefs, it was still a great battle with some fantastic food. And for those of you who weren’t able to join us, have no fear. We had our very own Art Etchells on the line, taking photos of all the action. So check ’em out below.

In the end, it was Aila who took home bragging rights and the victory (which was nice, what with it being her birthday and all) in a ridiculously close and hard-fought battle.
