Andy Reid Introduced As Chiefs Head Coach

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy ReidAndy Reid was formally introduced as the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs Monday. He took some time to address his time in Philadelphia, and said he leaves with no regrets.

“I have nothing but good things and good experiences in Philadelphia,” said Reid. “Phenomenal people. Absolutely phenomenal people.

“I can leave Philadelphia saying that I gave it my all. I can leave Philadelphia saying we had some great years there, man. I mean some great years. We were there a long time – I was there a long time. We were blessed to be there. Sometimes change is good. I think it is going to be tremendous for the Philadelphia Eagles, and then on the other hand I think it is going to be tremendous for the Kansas City Chiefs.”

Reid donned a gray suit and a bright red tie with tiny Chiefs logos making up the spots. His wife Tammy, also in red, was in attendance as well.

“Andy  is a proven winner that built an outstanding program in Philadelphia over the last 14 years,” said Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt.

Reid confirmed that some of his staff from the Eagles will join him in Kansas City. It was explained that he and the general manager will report directly to Hunt, and that the GM will have final say over personnel with the Chiefs.

The 54-year-old Reid was asked if he ever considered taking a year off to recharge.

“I’m ready to go, man. I’m ready to go,” said Reid. “This is what I do. Never took that into consideration.”

Reid will address the Philly media later this afternoon.
