This Meg Rodgers-designed room, with high-backed banquettes and painted-shade chandeliers in the rear and a minimalist bar out front, manages to be both refined and hip. And the open kitchen produces food that is sleek and fresh and homey and satisfying, all at once. The salads, in their precise sophistication, are a roaring delight for the palate. Seasonal veggies are stars in their own right, from the nutmeged brussels sprouts to the French lentils to the buttermilk mashed potatoes. What’s in season is what’s on the menu at this food-focused favorite. The attention to detail pleases fans of the New American menu; side vegetables are a house specialty.
